Why Confidence is Important? If you want to know why confidence is important, and learn how to build self-confidence, read the full article to get the answer to your question.  The article is divided into two parts : 1. The first part will tell you,  "Why confidence is important". 2. The second part will tell you,  "How to build self-confidence." You can also skip to the second part directly if you just want to learn to build confidence. Why is confidence important : 1. What is confidence? People often relate confidence with self-esteem. But confidence is not self-esteem. Self-esteem is basically 'liking yourself'' or 'loving your own values' and confidence is 'being sure' about liking yourself or about yourself.  Self-confidence is the trust in oneself. It is the feeling that you are sure about your abilities or skills. Or it can be said that confidence is 'trusting yourself'. You can have a high level of self-esteem with a lack ...

PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME

Procrastination is the thief of time.

What is procrastination and why procrastination is the thief of time? Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last moment or past their deadline. It is said that procrastination is the thief of time because when we are procrastinating, we are not doing the task we have to do and wasting our precious time.

PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME

But what is the psychology behind the reason for our procrastination and how to beat procrastination? Read the full article and you will learn everything about procrastination and will be able to beat it by applying the techniques I'm going to share with you. So, let's dive right into it.

 KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

Before you learn how to beat procrastination, you need to know the reasons for your procrastination. It is also the first step to beating procrastination. The reason for you, procrastinating on the work you should do is simple - procrastination is easy. It is as simple as that. You are procrastinating on the work you should do because the work requires so much effort and procrastinating is easy.

PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME. KNOW YOUR ENEMY

It is very easy to just leave the work and say, "I'm feeling lazy. So, I'm gonna sleep now and do my work when I wake up energetic." Happiness. I mean laziness. And when you wake up, you feel like you need more sleep, which results in more procrastination. This brings us to the next reason behind procrastination.

RUNNING FROM LIFE.

I wrote in my article on "How to break an addiction" that we waste our time by using social media because we use it as a means of escaping real life. It is related to the first point. The work we have requires effort and when we do not want to put in the effort, we run from our life. And how do we run from our life? Yes, by using social media. It has become very easy for us to run away from real life. Thanks to social media.

PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME. RUNNING FROM LIFE

This connects us to the first point. Social media has made procrastinating very easy. You can just escape your life - your problems and responsibilities - by clicking on the screen of your phone a few times. And when you feel good, you release dopamine in your brain which doesn't let you leave your fucking phone and increases your procrastination time. More about dopamine in another article.

The saying, "Procrastination is the thief of time" is very true. These were the main reasons why you do procrastinate. But what is the solution to this fucking problem? It's easy, really.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

What I told you in the second point - you procrastinate to avoid problems - is because you do not feel the responsibilities in your life. If you had taken responsibility for your work and life, half of your procrastination problems would have never existed. Again, taking the responsibility for your life and putting your ass up for doing your work daily is a difficult task. But it is very easy to scroll down on social media.

You may be thinking that I'm repeating the same things again and again but it is because all of these points are interconnected to one another and it is important to know the connection between them if you want to learn to beat procrastination.

Back to the point. See, the human brain always seeks pleasure, and it seeks short-term pleasure over the long-term. We are more relaxed, and tension-free while sitting on the couch, eating snacks, and scrolling down on social media as compared to working on our goals to achieve them because they require effort. Again that fucking connection.

THE MOTIVATION.

You all know what the fuck motivation is, right? Wrong. You have it all backward. You think you need some motivation to do a task. But it's the other way around - the action creates motivation.

PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME. THE MOTIVATION CYCLE.

See, motivation is not an on and off switch. Extrinsic motivation - which comes from outside factors - is not at all helpful in the long term. It always fails. You don't need the motivation to do a task as I said. Motivation is not a feeling and you cannot feel motivated all the time. Can you? Motivation is not responsible for you to get your ass up from that couch and start working. But the misconception that you have created in your mind - that you will work only when you feel motivated - is responsible for your procrastination because that motivation will never come to you no matter how many songs of Eminem you listen to. I listen to them, fuck you all.

THE DO-SOMETHING PRINCIPLE.

Now, let me tell you a simple hack to beat procrastination. Whenever you feel like you are not doing the work you should do and find yourself procrastinating again, apply the "Do-something principle." The point is related to the previous one because this principle is what is required to create the motivation of doing and completing the tasks you want to.

The solution for all of your procrastination problems is as simple as shutting the fuck up and doing something. Yes, this is the "Do-something principle." You do a little and that inspires you to do a little more and that inspires you to do a little more.

What you need to do to stop procrastinating is just start by a little. If you are procrastinating on your studies, tell yourself that you will study now only for 10 minutes, not more. Eventually, you will find yourself studying for a long time. This applies to all of the tasks you have in your life. Just start by a little and see the magic.

BREAK IT INTO SMALLER PIECES.

To effectively apply the "Do-something principle", you need to do this - whenever you are intimated by a big task, break it into smaller tasks and work on them individually. Start with the one you feel is interesting and you will end up doing all of the smaller tasks and completing the big one.

If you have to write a book, break it into chapters and start by writing a paragraph. If you want to get into an insane shape, don't focus on the shape but focus on a good workout daily. People think that there is some magic for beating procrastination. No, It is very easy. It's all about momentum. Bring the momentum with the help of the "Do-something principle" and keep going.

There we go, these were the steps to follow to beat procrastination. Listen to me, procrastination is the thief of time. It takes your time away and you don't realize it. Stop wasting your precious time by procrastinating. Use it wisely, either for working on yourself and develop yourself or spending it with the people you love because time is the most vital currency.
